Ya tenemos otra nueva controladora en la familia, parece ser que llevamos una semana cargada de novedades y, como siempre suelo decir en estas ocasiones, toda competencia es buena, pues beneficia al usuario final.

En este caso nos encontramos con la nueva controladora de Vestax, la TR-1, una controladora que se sale de lo que estamos acostumbrados últimamente, en primer lugar, porque está diseñada en conjunto entre Vestax y el famoso DJ de Techno Iroshi Watanabe, en segundo lugar, podemos observar que esta controladora carece de Jog Wheels, por lo que su manejo es similar al de una mesa de mezclas normal, otras características a resaltar son su capacidad para trabajar con 4 decks y su perfecta integración con Traktor Pro (de echo con la controladora se incluye Traktor LE). Poco mas que añadir, la controladora no incluye interfaz de audio y por lo tanto está orientada exclusivamente al control MIDI, para mi gusto esta mesa se queda a mitad de camino en la nada, pues no ofrece todo lo que hoy en día un DJ puede necesitar y ademas nos hace dependientes de un interfaz de audio para la pre-escucha, en fin una buena mesa, bien construida y con materiales de calidad, pero orientada a un público con unas necesidades muy especificas.

At this year’s BPM, Vestax introduced the TR-1, the MIDI controller made all the better by the collaborative efforts of Hiroshi Watanabe, the DJ who helped establish the mainstay art of laptop-based DJing in Japan. The TR-1 product page states in a FUBU-like manner that this MIDI controller was made for professionals, by professionals.

With Watanabe’s practical DJ wishes in mind, the Vestax development team designed this simple, compact controller to have the knobs and switches of a DJ mixer and full integration with Native Instruments Traktor Pro and LE.

The cool exterior of the TR-1 features a white and gold face plate and knobs, soft push switches, smooth 60 mm slide input faders, selectable deck control, and adjustable LED light volume. A Shift switch feature allows you to customize deck control functions, while overall, you can control up to 160 parameters of compatible software.

The TR-1 is a collaboration of Vestax and DJ HIROSHI WATANABE, one of the pioneers who established laptop based DJing in Japan.This radical MIDI controller has been designed from a professional’s point of view, making it compact and extremely useful when you’re in the mix. Its compatibility with Traktor Pro is remarkable.
